SHLLIB is .dll.a -> this needs to keep its symbols SHLBIN is .dll -> this can be stripped xxx.$(SHLLIB) needs to use $(INSTALL) and xxx.$(SHLBIN) needs to use $(INSTALL_PROGRAM) - Paul
