My computer definitely falls asleep if I leave it alone for long enough, so an
app like that doesn't seem likely. If there was something sending newlines,
why wouldn't I see this behavior in other text programs like Word, Notepad, or
Visual Studio Code?
I have not contacted my corporate IT; they have no diagnostic skills. If the
problem isn't in their flow chart their only solution is to reimage my hard
drive.
