In linear algebra package, the command line help of nmf_pg shows: 

Examples:

            A     = rand(10,5);
            [W H] = nmf_pg(A,tol=1e-3);
            U     = W*H -A;
            disp(max(abs(U)));

These error messages would show:

error: nmf_pg: non-string for Parameter name or Switch
error: called from
    error at line 592 column 7
    parse at line 480 column 11
    nmf_pg at line 79 column 3

These work: 

            [W H] = nmf_pg(A);
            [W H] = nmf_pg(A,'tol', 1e-3);
