I pushed cset http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/497de29f6946 to the
default branch which calls the same internal function for determining the temp
directory as the editor does for the F9-action since cset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/b77b321f1ac5 .

This function just goes through several environment variables and does not
rely on any Qt functions for temp directories, since those seem to return
locations with restricted access rights for normal users under certain
conditions.
