Follow-up Comment #1:

Thanks for your report.
Could you please attach a simple .ods file with a few dates showing this
error, used on Windows and Linux? (did you read the same file on those
OS-es?).
Then I can try to reproduce it and figure out what goes wrong.

A first observation is that on Windows, Excel's epoch (31-12-1899) isn't
converted to Octave's/Matlab's (1-1-0000) by adding 693960. Maybe that happens
if a spreadsheet created by Excel has been rewritten by LibreOffice and L.O.
didn't recognize Excel's internal date format. Or some other scenario along
those lines.
==> So, how have those .ods files originally been created? by LibreOffice or
Excel? and if by L.O., in Linux or Windows?

BTW what LibreOffice version(s) do you use on Windows and Ubuntu ?
