Follow-up Comment #3, bug #61346 (project octave):
There aren't many macOS users perusing this bug tracker afaict.
Also, I'd guess that this might be a packaging or installation issue? Maybe
some incompatible libraries are mixed together?
You'll probably have more luck asking homebrew about the issues you are
seeing.
If it turns out this is caused by a bug in Octave, please report back here.
