Follow-up Comment #18, bug #60928 (project octave):

Using Rik's patch, the times for "sort (foo, dim)" are consistently faster
than "ipermute (sort (permute (foo, p), 1), p)" for the corresponding
permutation vector p. Roughly twice as fast as the permute hack across the
dimensions.
