Follow-up Comment #30, bug #60818 (project octave):

I would have thought `eqs` was a sparse (block diagonal) matrix. But it looks
like it is a full matrix in comment #26.
That could also be the reason why the LU decomposition is unexpectedly slow.
I wonder which command/assignment causes the conversion from sparse to full.
