Follow-up Comment #2, bug #60708 (project octave):
Oh my! My Sympy version is 1.8-1 as part of the distro updates. I thought I
was being diligent in keeping everything up to date without realizing it broke
the symbolic package that I use only rarely.
I will find out how to install an older version of Sympy and get 1.5.1. Thank
you for pointing me to the right place.
