Follow-up Comment #9, bug #60316 (project octave):
Rik: I think we are using these functions when we specifically don't want
multiplication to wrap, like when computing the number of array elements to
allocate given a set of dimensions. In that case, if the multiplication
overflows we need an error, not the wrapped result.
