Follow-up Comment #13, bug #59237 (project octave): The command window on Windows needs a general overhaul imho. Another big issue is the missing/incomplete support of non-ASCII characters. It'd probably be possible to improve both of these issues by using a different API to the Windows console. I'm hesitant to dive deep into this, given the fact that there are plans to replace the current implementation by a cross-platform widget. I'd say this bug adds another point to the list of issues that might raise the priority of that project.
