Follow-up Comment #19, bug #57634 (project octave):

Ah, I forgot the debug mode. Confirmed on Windows and Linux. Actually, it is
not just the output that is repeated, but the last command is executed a
second time. This might be related to the fact that in debug mode, n new line
repeats the last command.

However, the effect does show up for me when executing a command from the
history.
