Follow-up Comment #2, bug #59215 (project octave):
Doesn't Octave use registry settings on Windows to localize Java?
I remember a note by Michael Goffioul (who created the Java package that
underlies Octave's Java subsystem) that while Linux rigid and reliable
standards for file system layout but no good solution for finding a Java
installation, Windows is exactly the opposite.
