Thanks. I assume this patch will fix my issue. (I didn't know that there is a
file in core Octave, that holds information on all the functions in all Octave
packages.)

I do not know of any automatic way to retreive a list of all new Matlab
functions. The closest I know you can get, is to go to the Mathworks website
and read the release notes. Those come out each 6 month and describe the new
and changed functions, individually for each Matlab toolbox. See for example

I assume we can CLOSE this issue now.
