Follow-up Comment #19, bug #58004 (project octave): In my case the crash seems to be happening on the second invocation: octave:2> pkg load io octave:3> javaaddpath ("./xml-apis.jar" ); octave:4> javaaddpath ("./xercesImpl.jar" ); octave:5> t1 octave:6> t1 fatal: caught signal Segmentation fault -- stopping myself... Segmentation fault (core dumped) Where t1.m is a code from comments 17. On one occasion the octave just hang w/o crash or returning to command prompt. had to kill -9 it. Anyway, backtrace it attached. This is on Centos8.1 with the hg id 2396ee754ce8 (stable).
