Follow-up Comment #36, bug #58323 (project octave): Imho, the changes made in this bug resolve the original issue. Not sure if the majority will like the additional lines surrounding F9-ed code because it might clutter the history. But like I already wrote, I can live with them. Bug #58370 looks promising to improve the user experience further. No need to have a "Copy selection to console" feature imho if that change should be accepted. Instead it might make sense to use that feature for yet another replacement of the current F9 code.
