Follow-up Comment #10, bug #58323 (project octave):

Actually, the very first approach wlas like that, i.e. copying the commands
into a temp. file and let octave evaluate this. The line by line procedure
resulted from the wish that the commands should be contained in the history
and displayed at he command line as if they were executed one by one in the
command line.
