Follow-up Comment #2:
I think this has been fixed on the stable branch, and yes, probably the same
as bug #58198.
I'm not sure what "C-c C-i b" does for you, because I get an error message
"C-c TAB is undefined". But I reproduced this by passing the block of text to
octave via stdin. It has now been fixed on the stable branch, so assuming the
same is true in emacs.
