Follow-up Comment #3, bug #58055 (project octave): I've attached two files to demonstrate the issue. When I run these with Octave 5.2.0 on Windows 10 Pro (1809), I get the following output: >> demo ans = 1234 line1 ans = 12345 line2 ans = 123456line3 ans = 1234567 line4 first__pass = 12345678 line5 second_pass = 56line3 ans = 1234567 line4 I'd expect first__pass to be identical to second_pass (after reading to the end of the file and jumping back to beginnning of line5 via fseek()).
