Follow-up Comment #1, bug #57952 (project octave):

Just adding that the class directories (@-style folders) are not on the path
(and are not supposed to be). Adding the class folder whose public method is
called, to the path resolves the error but creates other errors due to
shadowing of class methods with other functions so this is not an option.
