Follow-up Comment #4, bug #57284 (project octave):

This is extracted from a MEX file I have seen in the wild. What surprised me
is that Matlab seems unfazed by it and that Octave also didn't crash if one
creates fewer outputs. But, yes, dodgy code. Will suggest a fix upstream.
