Follow-up Comment #57, bug #51632 (project octave): I did the following test with your first patch from comment #54: Start Octave, call "pkg rebuild". "pkg list" now shows the paths including the current OCTAVE_HOME. Close Octave, rename the folder where it is installed, re-start Octave. "pkg list" now shows the paths including the new OCTAVE_HOME. No "pkg rebuild" needed.
