Details:

This is like #55943, but on Linux.
I just compiled Octave 6.0.0 from source on Fedora 31 beta using these
instructions: https://wiki.octave.org/Octave_for_Red_Hat_Linux_systems,
because in 5.1.0 the opposite happens: it ignores key press, #56776?.
