Follow-up Comment #10, bug #56151 (project octave):

Soory, my post was misleading. Browsing the history (on Linux) works exactly
like you expect ti should. I can edit a recent command, use arrow keys to
browse up and down and get the edited command when I come to this entry in the
history again. When I understand your post correctly, this does not work for
you.
