plot(1,1,'>') and plot(1,1,'<') result in up- and downward triangles ('^' and
'v') instead. Only seems to occur with graphics_toolkit('gnuplot').

OS: Ubuntu 18.04
gnuplot 5.2 patchlevel 2
octave 4.2.2
