Follow-up Comment #20, bug #42136 (project octave):

Aha!  That explains why when I increase the font size, the lines of box
drawing chars alawys stay 1-pixel thin.  This isn't a nice behaviour for
high-dpi screens...  Upstream active?

I did this:
