Follow-up Comment #8, bug #55427 (project octave): What I'm wondering is why essentially the same library behaves differently on Linux and Windows. It's built from the same source code after all. Perhaps configure options? I glanced through the zlib sources (zlib-1.2.11-1.src.tar.gz) but couldn't find any mention of size limits relevant to the issue at hand.
