Follow-up Comment #2, bug #52260 (project octave): I am using Qt5 version 5.9.1. In bug #51442, Mike told me that I am using QtOpenGLWidget because HAVE_QOPENGLWIDGET is defined to 1 in my config.h. (I should have added a reference to that bug report here.) In case this is important: All figures where rendering black for me with Qt5 until somewhen before hg id 8e034cb195f1. It was probably fixed with 59cdf06c940e. But I didn't bisect to a specific changeset yet.
