That's with Qt version 4.8.6.

I'm having issues with Qt, as described here:

but when I set LD_PRELOAD as devised there, everything seems to work. No idea
whether it can be related. We might have to wait for Rik's feedback, in case
what he is describing is what to be expected from a modal window.
