Follow-up Comment #3, bug #46997 (project octave):
The OpenGL error in comment #0 is not actually caused while painting the
texture. In fact, it looks like the error flag is already set before the
texture is created.
The attached patch fixes the original issue for me.
However, this does not actually fix the issue which initially caused the
OpenGL error flag to be set. Maybe we should check more often whether the
error flag was set? This should probably be done at least at the end of every
"opengl_renderer::draw_..." function or at the end of "opengl_renderer::draw".
But that is probably better tracked in another bug.
