Follow-up Comment #70, bug #47974 (project octave): This bug report: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?48200 has a patch attached: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=37532 that is related to printing (in general) and should be considered for pushing to the canonical repository. It allows a background of 'none' and fixes a bug if there are no handle elements for properties. (But doesn't fix the bug associated with that ticket...just something I came across when looking at the related code.)
