Follow-up Comment #6, bug #37107 (project octave):

I thought I had a "settings dialog" once, but now
I cannot find it.

Currently, when I start octave I get 2 windows:
1. the "main" window which has the vaious menus
   along the top.
2. A separate command window.

Without my doing anything the command window 
disappears, and reappears within the main window.
I would quess that my configuration file has been
trashed a bit.  I have no idea where this, presumably
hidden, file is kept.

Maybe best to wait until things settle a bit.
Right now I cannot use the current devel system due to JIT
problem.
