There are already export tools in the library for
exporting from 3ds Studio Max version 3+. You can
export for example characters, animations + landscapes
into the nel game format.
On windows ,you will need to use visual studio 6 for
development and it will also work with visual studio 7
with some tweaking.
You can also use GCC on linux but only the server code
will necessarily compile.

Hope this helps.

You're kidding. 3ds Max and Visual Studio are the only tools that will work with NeL's code setup?
Are there any other programs that will edit and compile the source code?

If not, then afraid it looks like I won't be able to use NeL after all. Least not for some time.
Would it be possible to alter the source to support other software tools?
