About the second issue: When a file is loaded the size field shows the 
correct number of bytes. It becomes a garbage value after a series of 
operations of cutting/uncutting, indenting/unindenting and 
undoing/redoing, which I can't tell for sure... well, is it possible 
that the buffer gets reallocated during the process?
