That's far too old.  And you didn't install it yourself,
so it doesn't count.

Try it with nano-2.4.1 and 2.6.2, just to be sure.

If they don't compile either, my ncurses.h is in
/usr/include/ncurses.h

You could try making a symlink from there down
to ncurses/ncurses.h.  See if that helps.
