Hello Rishabh,

Attached is a working and cleaned-up patch.

The problem with freeing parentdir seems to occur when
the given filename does not contain any slash.  So the
attached version handles that case separately.

I've also renamed some things, to be less "negative".  :)

Please check whether things now work for you.

(The patch will not apply cleanly to 2.5.1 -- the change
to set_modified() in winio.c you will have to do manually
-- in SVN this function moved to files.c.)
