Neither of them are in nano at the moment, so you're not missing

Adding this would be rather complicated given the current code.  In the
meantime, you can use M-C to always display the current line number on
the statusbar.

Tab needs to work the way it does now for compatibility with Pico. 
Another key could be used for marked indentation, though.

There are a lot of other things that need to be done first in terms of
design issues, bug fixes, and other bits of improved functionality. 
After they're finished, coding this might be an option.
