Both these issues were fixed by avoiding a `make distclean' before
building the package. `make distclean' should return the state of the
build tree to exactly as it was after unpacking the source archive.
Monotone's build system is being a bit overzealous and deleting a
bunch of other files too. These files should be removed by
maintainer-clean, not distclean.

I was using 0.25 as a stepping stone to packaging 0.26. I'll likely
post 0.26 some time in the next week.
