Monit isn't designed to monitor something like cacti that doesn't run as a daemon. Cacti instead is a process started by cron that runs periodically (typically ever 5 minutes).
What is it that you are really trying to do? Are you just trying to make sure that every Cacti run has completed successfully?

Hello all, Recently I´ve started to monitor CACTI with Monit, but because of cacti’s nature it do run constantly and every time it restart a new PID is used, and because of it Monit keeps changing the status of the process instead of keeping it ok. Is it possible to avoid this behavior? How can I monitor CACTI and avoid Monit to flood e-mails of PID changes?
