After "configure" you need to run "make" ... see the README file in Monit directory. Excerpt:

Note that you need GNU make ... in case of Solaris it is usually called "gmake" => the sequence will be:

gmake install

I get as below , but there are no .o and monit files generated.

                Linker flags: -lpthread -lpam -lcrypt -lresolv -lnsl -lsocket  -lkstat -L/usr/local/ssl/lib -lssl -lcrypto
           pid file location: /var/run
