Would it be possible for Monit to remember "state" for each application it monitors on a restart?
As an example, I have 5 apps I'm monitoring on server1, app1, app2 and app3 are up, running and monitored when I shut down Monit (or the server reboots). app4 and app5 have been either stopped and/or unmonitored. When Monit is restarted or the server reboots, I want it to bring things back the way they were at shutdown… app1, app2 and app3 up. app4 and app5 stay down.
