Not in general - monit requires SMTP server.

However, you can use exec action to pipe to CLI sendmail (this is per testing rule so not generic replacement for SMTP server).

Hi,

Is it possible to have Monit use "sendmail" instead of an SMTP server to send out alerts? The reason I'm asking is because I replaced Postfix with sSMTP on my servers, which makes setting up email a breeze. However, it doesn't expose a regular SMTP server, emails need to be send through the sendmail command.

Thanks!
