You can look at some examples here:

Note however that there are usually small differences between
different OS/distributions (path to pidfile, init scripts, etc.),
thus you should check your environment and modify the examples
accordingly.
Maybe we can provide more example for particular distributions which
will work out-of-the-box (like for example Debian speicific, Redhat,
Solaris, Mac OS X, etc.). So if any user won't to share the
configuration, you are welcome :) The examples page can then be
reworked/extended ...
