Let's say you want to keep n Mbytes of core files, transmit them at
certain intervals, have a consistent naming mechanism, and have them all
in one place. It seems easier for one program (it doesn't have to be
monit, it could be something else called core-mangler invoked from cron)
to enforce this policy than to add stuff to a bunch of start up scripts.
