I tested Sancho on Gentoo, GTK2 version with the Google search result:

http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=ja&q=%E3%82%B1%E3%83%84%E3%83%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%82%B7&btnG=Google+%E6%A4%9C%E7%B4%A2&lr

I copied the string via clipboard from Firefox to Sanchos search field and it
works.

@Rolf: As I don´t have experience with other input methods (Input Method
Editor) I can´t test it here.
