dpkg -s zlib
dpkg -s zlib-devel

if this fails please try
apt-get install zlib1g
apt-get install zlib1g-dev

Here ./configure works, with and without --disable-gui. It should only fail if 
you lack zlib1g-dev.

Did you compile older versions of MLDonkey?

Original Submission:  when doing /.configure without --disable-gui, everything 
works just fine! hope im not the only 1 with this problem because i dont wanna 
spam with newbie bugs, but i dont think so it is. also please fix BT ;)

its still in 2-5-27 :(

./configure --disable-gui works here, do you have zlib-dev packet installed?
What is wrong with BT?
