212000 servers? Gnutella or Fasttrack enabled? Does the GUI have high CPU load
when only Edonkey is enabled?

Category: GUI
Severity: 5 - Average
Item Group: Feature request
Resolution: None
Assigned to: None
Status: Open
Release: 2-5-21
Release:
Platform Version: Linux
Binaries Origin: Debian package
CPU type: Intel x86
Summary: Eats cpu like mad
Original Submission: Some minutes after start, the gui gets slower and slower
and causes ca.
25% to 75% cpu load on my Duron750, which is far too much for a
utility program.
With mlnet2.5.11 as daemon it were only about 15%, and only, while the
[Download]-Tab was active, with the 2.5.21-daemon is eats cpu in every
tab.
This bugs has been submitted no debian BTS :

I follow the comment of the user from the debian BTS

Package: mldonkey-gui
Version: 2.5.21-2
Followup-For: Bug #250909
The original report said the gui eats CPU like mad. This is the case on my
machine too (Celeron 1200, usually 75%+ of the CPU goes to mlgui, ~15% to
mlnet). I can easily see with tcpdump that there are hundreds of
connections to different servers made by mldonkey. I don't know which
process connects, the gui or the server, but it starts as soon as I run
mlgui and stops as soon as I kill it; if only mlnet is running,
everything's ok, the load is unnoticeable. During this the crawling, but
still alive mlgui window shows that the core is connected to 0 of 2100
servers, then to 0 of 2700 servers, then to ... I once left mlgui running
for the night and in the morning it said it was connected to 2 of 212000+
(yes, it's not a typo, it was more than two hundred thousands) servers.
I have looked in config file and the config window and found nothing which
could stop this madness. And yes, my server and my gui are the same release.

Are the versions of GUI the same as the core? Did you try an older GUI version
with a newer core?
