Summary:  After some time, mldonkey drops donkey support and does nothing

Original Submission:  After some time (30min-1h atm), possibly when the memory 
usage hits the ceiling, mldonkey stops doing anything. Processor usage drops 
down to near 0, not connected to any servers and so on....

Mldonkeywatch shows edonkey network switched OFF when connecting to the core.

The log shows are large number of messages like:

you dont need / shouldnt run mldonkey as root ?

note this problem occurs using static or dynamic versions

yup identical problem under Suse 8.0

have exactly the same problem running a clean install of suse 8, requires a 
reboot to get to connect back to servers again.. this is the client, not the 
server.

It could be that it only happens when the server is started with nohup 
./mldonkey and not when started directly by root.
