Hi there,

Same problem here. Cable modem Motorola Surfboard sb4200, debian with kernel
2.4.21. After around 5 minutes of mlnet working, my cable modem do not work
anymore. I cannot ping, www, e-mail... I reduced max_hard_download_rate,
max_hard_upload_rate, max_opened_connections and max_indirect_connections to
the minimum, but the problem still occurs. I have noticed that some people has
this problem, and it seems we all have cable or adsl router. Any idea?

Thanks,

Summary: mldonkey kills Motorola SURFboard SB4200E

Original Submission: mldonkey kills my cable modem. I loose the internet
connection on all computers connected to my cable modem as soon as the mldonkey
starts.

The problem started, when my provider exchanged my cable modem to a SURFboard
SB4200E. Earlier I had a BayNetworks modem and mldonkey was running 24/7
without problems. A friend in London who has a Motorola SURFboard SB4100
experiences the same problem.

I hope this bug report will help, email me me for further information.

Thanks

Have you limited the max_hard_upload_rate and max_hard_download_rate on your
mldonkey ? Otherwise, you can indeed saturate the connection, which sometimes
causes the modem to disconnect, and need to be switch off and on ...
