Summary:  Problems with 8-Bit Characters

Original Submission:  mldonkey GUI seems to have a problem with German umlauts 
(äöü, or "a"o"u, if you speak TeX). If a filename contains an umlaut, the GUI 
only shows the part of the name before the umlaut.
